Arcana Academy offers the most rigorous Tarot certification program available online. Our certifications are designed for students who want more than casual card knowledge — they are for practitioners who seek formal credentials that demonstrate genuine competence to clients, employers, and the broader metaphysical community.
Our curriculum is structured across four progressive levels, each building on the last. Students begin with foundational knowledge and advance through increasingly sophisticated interpretive and practical skills. Each level culminates in a formal certification exam that tests both theoretical understanding and applied reading ability.
Beginner
All 78 cards, upright meanings, basic spreads, and card recognition. Passing the Foundations exam earns the Certified Tarot Student credential.
Intermediate
Reversed meanings, elemental dignities, advanced spread analysis, and symbolic interpretation. Passing earns the Certified Tarot Reader credential.
Advanced
Client consultation skills, complex spread synthesis, timing techniques, and ethical reading practices. Passing earns the Certified Professional Reader credential.
Master
Teaching methodology, deck creation principles, historical Tarot scholarship, and a comprehensive capstone exam covering all 78 cards. Passing earns the Master Tarot Practitioner credential.
Each certification level includes multiple courses covering specific card groups, spreads, and interpretive techniques. Lessons combine rich written content with interactive quizzes, card recognition exercises, and guided practice readings. Our AI Tutor provides personalized feedback on your interpretations, helping you refine your skills with every session.
Certification exams are comprehensive assessments that test both card knowledge and practical reading ability. Each exam includes card identification, meaning recall across upright and reversed orientations, spread position analysis, and full reading synthesis. Passing scores require 80% or higher, ensuring that certified practitioners meet a consistent professional standard. Students may retake exams after a review period.
Arcana Academy certification provides tangible benefits for your Tarot practice and career. Certified practitioners receive a digital certificate suitable for display on websites and social media, a listing in our public practitioner directory, and ongoing access to advanced study materials. Our credentials signal to clients that you have completed a structured, rigorous program — not just watched a few videos or read a single book. Many professional readers report that certification significantly increases client trust and booking rates.
